General FAQ

What do I need to bring with me?

  1. You! Dressed ready for action. Sweat gear easy to move in and fitness footwear.
  2. Towel, clean and ready for a damp brow.
  3. Water Bottle, hydration is essential for success.
  4. Positive attitude and motivation. Remember, this is about you and your fitness goal. Motivation is intrinsic. If you really focus on why you want your goal, we will get it done!

What happens if I miss a session?

We catch it up.  If you want real long-term results, consistency is key! We reschedule.  If you have a holiday, we do extras before you go, to make sure you are super fab for the holiday. Upon your return we again do the extras to deal with any extra kilos that crept on.  We keep your fitness problems at bay!

How do I book a makeup session?

Simply text or chat to your trainer.  Always happy to discuss how to make fitness work for you!

Do you offer private family or couple sessions?

YES!!  We call them PT Together.

This is the foundation of my business. Want to train with the family? With your besties? With your partner? Then this is the place, a studio space just for your special knit group, for that personalised next level session.

Do you discount for members of the same household?

YES.  We run family and couple pricing to make it affordable and fitness achievable.

What fitness level is required?

If you can walk into the studio, then we are good to go. Fitness is the end game here, not necessarily the beginning. Let us support your safe return to fitness for longevity and resilience.

Training - FAQ

How long does a training session go for?

Personal Training is about making it personal.  Depending on existing fitness, goals, and tolerance of exercise, sessions will vary between 30 and 60 minutes.

Do you offer a monthly training fee?

Yes. For the convenience of those paid monthly from their employer, we calculate a monthly fee to match with your chosen training package.

Can my children train with me?

Totally yes, from the age of 14 years and up they are welcome.  Families that play and work together, grow and flourish together. Build their confidence, co-ordination, posture and future bone density and strength.

What qualifications do you have?

As a Fitness Professional in the second decade of being part of the industry, I am on a constant quest to stay abreast with the latest science to best serve you.  My original qualifications were a B.A, Cert 3 and 4 in Fitness, Cert 4 in Small Business Management.  To best view further specialisations completed since then, please feel free to review these on the Fitness Australia governing body web site who verify these qualifications for your confidence.

Do I get the same personal trainer each week?

Oh yeah. If you are serious about your goals, then I am with you, by your side, every step, lunge, squat and stretch of the way!

I am coming out of rehabilitation, can you help?

Yes! Building back your confidence, trust in your own body, returning to good and sustainable mobility without fear of pain. A survivor of a few injuries / surgeries myself, bringing the body back and finding true joy in movement and vitality, is my speciality.

I have a personal injury, can I still train?

Oh yeah!  I love to remind clients that there are over 600 skeletal muscles within the human body. So, if say a shoulder is “unhappy”, then we will use the many other muscles in the rest of the body to produce the results that align with your goals. No excuses if you are serious about success.

What is the minimum training booking period?

For 1 to 1 and semi-private Personal Training we work on the absolute minimum of 3 months.

Fitness Studio - FAQ

Where is your fitness studio located?

Don’t like sweat-smelling gyms? Then how does working out surrounded by nature sound? Part of what makes Affirm unique is the private garden setting. The studio is located on private acreage with a its’ own air-conditioned building and separate toilet amenities. You can lift, move, and stretch looking out over gardens and listening to the birds! We are in Birkdale, 17kms south east of Brisbane CBD within the Redlands City Council area, by Moreton Bay.

What equipment do you have available?

Something for everybody! Stuff to lift, stuff to shift, and everything in between.

    1. Think traditional lifting equipment of barbells, dumbbells, racks, benches, and plyo-boxes. Cardio equipment of a Concept 2 Rower and RPM stationary bike.
    2. Then we have functional selections from balls, bands, Viprs, kettlebells, battle-ropes, sand-bells, suspension trainers, hurdles, hoola hoops, skip ropes and plenty more.
    3. Myofascial release equipment is also part of the kit from rollers, trigger point balls and other various equipment.

How is the equipment sanitised?

As a private boutique studio, control over contact, use and cleaning is much easier to manage than in larger establishments. We pride ourselves on a clean studio at all time. The cleaning and disinfecting of equipment etc. is addressed in-between all client sessions. Equipment is not shared during workouts consisting of more than 1 person. Social spacing is adhered to within classes and between sessions.  High alcohol content hand sanitiser is always available.  Products used are selected with your breathing and contact safety in mind.

Do you offer mobile 1-1 services?

Yes, in special circumstances. It is an honour to support less-mobile clients such as those within the NDIS system.  Of the small number of home-visit clients with Affirm, all enjoy the combination and versatility of home visits, studio visits and zoom sessions.

I often travel for work; can I do online training sessions when I am away?

Absolutely! Affirm is fully set up with quality microphone, cameras to provide the best sound and visuals into your space for a safe and effective workout in line with your fitness program.

What are you doing to protect clients during Covid-19?

Your health is our priority! Naturally, we do everything possible. When restrictions are high, online zoom sessions for both personal training and classes gave clients consistency of training and results. Back in the studio, class numbers are reduced for safe social distancing.  All sessions are started and finished with use of hand sanitiser, cleaning of equipment and disinfecting between sessions. Diana has completed the Certificate of Acknowledgement provided by the Australian Government on Infection Control Training Covid-19.
